Principal Report

Oatlands from My Point of View

Just over a week back at school this term and quite a bit has already happened.

ANZAC Day Ceremony

On Tuesday the 20th of April, we held our ANZAC Day ceremony. Our ceremonies are one of our longest standing traditions and it was wonderful to return to a live ceremony in some capacity. Our Grade Prep, 1, 2 & 6 students attended the ceremony in person and the remaining grades viewed our live stream from their classrooms. A huge thank you and congratulations to Ms Fiona Jamieson and the Oatlands Choir for their organisation and performance. Also a very special mention to our Student Leaders, Raneth, Emily, Koby, Inuka, Sivanni and Kaitlyn, for their outstanding conduct and performance.

Cross Country

Last Friday, the Grade 3 – 6 students participated in the Oatlands Cross Country Trials. It was fantastic to see so many students participating and giving it a really good go. It was also great to see students in their house colours enjoying the event. Congratulations to the PE Team and the Sports and House Captains for all their efforts.

Melbourne Zoo Excursion

Our Grade 3 & 4 students had the opportunity to go on an excursion to the Melbourne Zoo last week. The students reported that it was heaps of fun, with the Lions, Tigers, Elephants and Butterflies regularly part of the highlights. Thank you to the Grade 3 & 4 staff for all your work in the lead up and on the day.

I am looking forward to a very productive and successful Term 2 and I wish everyone all the best.
