Performing Arts Update

We’re off to a flying start in Performing Arts this term!

Students have been busy learning instruments, singing, dancing and doing musical interpretation listening activities! Foundation students have been busy singing away, beginning a new dance and playing rhythm instruments. Last week students in Level 1 & 2 were listening to music and drawing what they heard, felt or pictured when they listening to the music. Level 3 & 4 students have begun writing their very own compositions for the xylophone and keyboard, putting their instrumental skills and theory skills to the test! Students in Level 5 & 6 are back into ukulele, fine tuning their strumming pattern skills in order to begin writing their own songs this week and further in the term.

In other exciting Performing Arts News outside of the class room, Whole School Choir is back and bigger than ever with the introduction of Foundation students! Whole School Choir rehearsals are at lunchtimes on Friday in the GP room with Miss Gaudion, Mrs Friebel and Ms Robinson.

This year some of our Level 4 students are participating in the Mass Choir for the Victorian State School Spectacular! Students have already begun rehearsals learning many different songs to be performed in what is sure to be a spectacular show later in the year!
