COVID -19 Update

The Victorian Government relaxed its COVIDSafe settings on Friday 26 March 2021.

Changes to the COVIDSafe settings include allowing more visitors in the home, changes to mask-wearing in some settings and updates to density limits in some settings. There are limited changes for schools.

Visitors continue to be welcome at our school, however face masks must be carried by individuals 12 years and over at all times and worn when physical distancing of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained.

Unfortunately, the density limits of 1 person per two square metres still apply and that means we are unable to have parents and visitors attend assemblies due to the size of our hall and capacity. We will however continue to provide you with a recording posted to Seesaw of your child’s year level assembly. Should restrictions ease we will notify you of the new arrangements.

Individuals aged 12 years and over must continue to wear a face mask when on public transport, school buses and when in taxis or rideshare vehicles – unless they have a lawful exemption.

Thank you for your understanding and support throughout this term as we continue to implement COVIDSafe practices at our school.

School Uniform

It is optional to wear the summer uniform until the end of April. As the UV is still quite high at this time of the year all children are also required to wear their school hat until advised otherwise.

The full winter uniform is to be worn from Monday 3rd May (week 4). Please note ties are no longer a requirement of the school uniform.

School Crossing

We have received reports that children are crossing the road outside the school crossing area.  Please remind your child that they should always utilise the supervised school crossing.

Lego

Lego club is operating at lunchtime on Wednesdays. We have lots of very enthusiastic lego fans join us to have some fun and meet other children with similar interests.

Lego club welcomes all children from P-6.

Cheerleading

A number of children have been enjoying the Cheerleading classes at lunchtime.  This term sessions will be held on Monday. It is great to see so many of our students having fun and keeping fit.  Please see the flyer in community news for more information.

Chess Club

On Thursdays, at lunchtime, we have a big group of children playing chess. We have expert players and beginners. It is really good to see children sharing their skills to teach their buddies. A very big thank you to Elodie Garel for being so generous with her time to come along and coach our budding chess players. Elodie is a new parent to St Columba's and is Quentin's mum (3/4P) .
