Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

I was immensely proud to march with our staff and students yesterday at the ANZAC Day Ceremony. To have three-quarters of our school population marching is quite extraordinary and just shows how amazing this school community truly is. Thank you to all our parents and families for supporting our children in recognising the importance of ANZAC Day.

This morning, we held a very reverent Prayer Assembly in the Remembrance Garden to honour the ANZACs. Once again, our students showed great respect and it was wonderful to have families join us for this assembly.

To help us celebrate the wonderful women in our lives, we are inviting all mums, grandmas, aunts, nannas and special women to our Mother's Day Breakfast next Thursday 6 May starting at 8.00am. It is just a small way of showing our gratitude for all you do in our lives. On the menu is a cooked breakfast wrap with all the trimmings for our mums. There will be toast available for the kids with a small selection of condiments so I would recommend they come to school having eaten their breakfast as usual. Please RSVP the number of adults attending to the front office by Tuesday 4 May for catering purposes.

The Mother's Day Stall will also be in operation on this day for children to purchase mum a gift for Mother's Day if they wish.

There has been a slight change to our 2021 NAPLAN schedule in Week 4 and Week 5. Students in Year 3 and Year 5 will now sit their exams on slightly different days than were advertised on last week's calendar. The timetable will now be:

Tuesday 11 May - Writing

Wednesday 12 May - Reading

Monday 17 May - Conventions of Language

Tuesday 18 May - Numeracy

There will be opportunities for catch up assessments in both weeks if a child is absent on any one of those days. There is no preparation needed for NAPLAN assessments at home other than to ensure your child gets a good night sleep the night before and a good breakfast on the morning of each assessment.

A reminder that all students are asked to be dressed in full winter uniform from next Monday 3 May. If for any reason your child is not dressed in full uniform, please send us in a note of explanation.

A special mention to Lachie Bates who celebrates his 7th birthday on Thursday 29th April.  We hope you enjoy your special day Lachie!

I hope you have a great week!
