Acknowledging Mental Health and Wellbeing

As we get well into Term 2 and the days are getting colder, it is a timely reminder that our mental health and wellbeing can be affected by a range of internal and external factors. Being mindful of what affects our health and our mood is really important for knowing ourselves and for setting up strategies and supports.

Some common factors that can affect our mental health:

  • Change to family circumstances
  • Change to relationship status
  • Change to working status
  • Change to financial status
  • School or work deadlines
  • Anniversaries of important events
  • The passing of a loved one
  • Illness
  • Change in seasons/weather
  • Change in exercise patterns
  • Change in sleeping patterns
  • Change in eating patterns

At Wantirna College we’re interested in finding out what issues regarding mental health concern you, how/where you seek support and what areas you are interested learning more about.
