GWR Cross Country

On May 30th, our top Cross Country runners took part in the Greater Western Region Cross Country event at Reid Oval. With over 15 schools represented at the event from Horsham to Ballarat to Colac, our team held themselves with the utmost sportsmanship and respect throughout the whole day. Congratulations to Emily D and Anwyn I, competing at their first ever GWR cross country in the 14 years age group and achieving 29th and 25th place respectively out of over 60 competitors!

Special mention to Blake W who ran 28th of over 65 competitors, achieving 7 positions higher than his placing last year. Finally, a big congratulations to Sigmund I, also in his first GWR Cross country event, who achieved 12th position and has qualified for State Cross Country. Sigmund entered the final 300m of the race in 14th position, and quickly overtook the competition to cross the line in 12th spot. With the top 12 students progressing to States, this is a tremendous achievement. Well done to all our runners!

Colac Clay Target Shooting Competition

On Wednesday 10th May, King's College competed in the Colac Clay Target Shooting Competition. We entered a great team of 12 Boys and Girls, ranging from Year 7 to Year 11. Despite the wet weather, the competition was run in near perfect conditions with almost no wind or rain. The students competed very well and represented our school beautifully. Some of the supervisors and judges even took the time to congratulate them on their etiquette and good sportsmanship. Esther (Year 9) made it into the second place shoot-off for Junior Girls but lost despite shooting a personal best. Well done to the team on a great performance.
