Vegemite Artwork

Students in the 9/10 Draw, Paint, Sculpt class recently completed a painting unit to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Vegemite. Cyril Callister was born near Beaufort, and invented Vegemite in 1923.

The students learnt to create different tones with the vegemite and mixed it with a painting medium to help it set. The students were guided through this task by student teacher, Ms. Hocking and classroom teacher, Ms. Conroy. Each student was assigned a different building or location in Beaufort to paint.

These images will be on display at the Pyrenees Art Show on the long weekend in June, and will be looking for a longer display in the Vegemite museum after that. Well done to our students for their excellent work!
