PnC News

Thank you for a ma$$ive May fundraising effort!

The past month has seen our school community go all in on fundraising with not one but two big events: the Mother’s Day stall/raffle and breakfast, and the Bunnings BBQ.

Mother’s Day wrap

On May 12 we started strong with a coffee morning and breakfast. Throughout the day, the kids had a blast at the Mother’s Day stall, purchasing hundreds of handmade gifts and potted plants donated by our parents & carers. And in the afternoon, we drew the winners of 7 gorgeous hampers filled with a bounty of donated goods.

Thank you to ALL the parents and carers who donated their time and goods to our mother’s day events, including (but not limited to): Shasha Zhang, Cody Moore, Tamie jones, Vikki Sandford-Nash, Lee Cath, Emily Hillenbrand, Emma Heller, Elizabeth, Katy Ingram, Sarah Fidd, Erica, Jess West, Tess McCabe, Nell Wood, Hallina McNally, Mel (Lotties Mum), Mabrooka Singh, Gary Shaw, Andrew Hudson, George Kotridis, Les Kneebone, Clare Oates, Jacqui Thurgood , Dan Wright, Pete Shelley, David Ostberg, Vikki Sandford-Nash, and Wes Pryor.

In total the Mother’s Day events raised $3840 for the school.

Bunnings BBQ wrap

Our Bunnings BBQ at Coburg North went off, thanks to our generous volunteers, including: Gary Shaw, Andrew Hudson, Kirsty Fraser, Maja Brkic, Chloe Nottle, Lochlan McNally, Jon Corbett, Jessica Chrisiti, Tim Smith, Andrew Fawcett, Wes Pryor, Clare Oates, Bianca Hall, Becs Ostberg, Mark Evenhuis, David Gannon, and Tamie Jones.

Extra special thanks to Nathan Bennett of food truck Bilbo Snaggins for donating the sausages on the day! What a star!

In total we raised $2374 for the school.

Communication about PnC events

The PnC promotes its events via the WhatsApp and Facebook groups, posters around the school, in the newsletter, and via Compass. Not all school events are run by the PnC and all communication for PnC events is done by parent volunteers.

WhatsApp and Facebook groups

The PnC facilitates WhatsApp groups for grade levels, and a Facebook Group for the whole school community, to help connect our community online. There is also a private Facebook Group for parents and carers of neurodiverse students.

These groups are run by parents and not affiliated or overseen by the school or its leadership. You can view the terms of these groups here: https://tinyurl.com/4699e963

If you would like to join the Facebook Group or your child’s year level WhatsApp group, please SMS Tess on 0419280282.

As always, we recognise that not all parents and carers have the capacity to volunteer or donate to our fundraising efforts. We welcome all efforts, not matter how small. If you are interested in helping our school in a way that suits you, or you have a fundraising or social event idea, you can email us any time at merribek.pnc@gmail.com.
