CURRICULUM FOCUS

In Maths this week we are learning about describing our movement.

VOCABULARY

Movement: The way we move including the direction or location. Example, forward, over, around. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

With your child discuss some of our location/direction words that we have been focusing on in class including: 

Over

Under

On top

Around

Forwards

Backwards

Left

Right 

Ask your child to act out each of the above words. For example, over- they might jump over a soft toy. 

Then have your child give directions to someone at home. For example they may direct someone from the front door to the backdoor. For example: start at the front door, walk forward to the coffee table, etc.
