PFA News

Dear RMPS families,

Firstly, thank you to those who have filled in the PFA Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet to express interest in volunteering to coordinate or help at events.  The PFA Committee are looking at the responses and will contact individuals who have expressed interest in volunteering at particular events.

Thank you

Education Week Open Night BBQ – The PFA hosted a BBQ on Wednesday 17 May during the Education Week Open Night to raise funds to support the school’s Campfire Conversation event that focuses on fostering greater understanding and awareness of Australia’s indigenous culture, history, and perspective.

We hope families got involved with the interactive numeracy games in the classroom and enjoyed the chicken skewers and sausages at the BBQ.

A big thank you to school staff, Stephen Roche, Erin Cheung, Katrina Cassidy and Tim Fearn-Wannan, for cooking and setting up the BBQ. Massive thanks go out to Hannah Doyle from TeamKids and our amazing team of family volunteers – Amanda Lee, Bård Sæter, Carolyn Steart, Eduardo Cofre, Kerrie Sharpe and Stan Rychlik who helped in different ways including sourcing bread, sausages and chicken skewers, cooking on the BBQ, serving and packing up. Thank you for giving up your time and helping, we couldn't have done it without you!

PFA

The PFA is a group of volunteer parents and carers who help organise events and fundraising activities for RMPS, welcome families and bring people together from within the community.  This helps us all connect more closely with our school and to raise vital funds for school improvements.  Without volunteers, there would be no PFA.

All RMPS parents and carers are welcome to register as PFA members, enabling them to receive copies of meeting minutes, vote on items/actions and the office bearer (executive) roles as applicable, and be elected to PFA office bearer roles.  If you would like to register as a member, please contact us for a copy of the registration form.  Note that you do not have to be a member to help on events or attend meetings.

Next meeting: Wednesday 14 June 2023 at 8:00pm – 9:00pm.  This meeting will be held online. Further details on how to join will be sent out prior to the meeting.

Please get in touch if you'd like more information on the PFA, have an idea you’d like to share with us or would like to get involved in the committee and/or activities – rmps.pfa@gmail.com.

Signing off for now,
