This week in Performing Arts:
The Foundation to Grade 2 students have worked brilliantly over the last two weeks creating some fantastic musical pieces. We have been looking at percussion instruments and how these are used in songs to create a groove and rhythm.
We continued to explore rhythm, and identified what a bar of music was, as well as a treble clef. Last week we looked at basic time signatures such as 4/4, 3/4, 2/4 and 1/4 and how we represent these on a bar of music. The students then started to create their own musical instrument books, which contain examples of all of the instruments in the percussion family. Did you know that the piano is a percussion instrument? Well, now you know!
