Japanese

Grades 3/4

Grade 3/4 students have been revisiting body parts vocabulary and are learning how to say what part hurts using those words. Students are having conversations using sentences such as ‘What’s wrong?’ ‘My knee hurts!’ They are also using expression in their role plays and honing their pronunciation, too. Well done Grade 3/4s!

Grades 5/6

Based on student request, Grades 5/6 students have been learning vocabulary around sports in their Japanese lessons. They have also been learning country names in Japanese and this was a great opportunity to check their geographical knowledge on the map as well! They have been learning how to say ‘I’m from …’ to build on their self-introduction skills and many students can create their own sentences. This has added benefits because decoding sentences in another language is known to be great help to students’ first language development. Keep up the great work, Grades 5/6s!
