Let's Visit the Grade 5s and 6s

Bike Education, Christian Life Lessons & Benson Bucks Classroom Economy

Bike Education

Over the past few weeks, students in Grade 5 and 6 participated in the Bike Education program. Students learnt about bike safety, enjoyed riding around the oval with increasingly challenging obstacles and eventually participated in a longer bike ride outside school grounds. Thank you to all staff involved and parents for your support in making this program so successful!

Christian Life Lessons

In Christian Life lessons, the Grade 5 students have been learning about serving others. As part of the lessons, they were asked to think about ways that they can serve others in the school. The students came up with a range of ideas including reading a book to the Prep students, making cards for teachers, helping the Grade 1s in PE, running a game for the Grade 4 students and cleaning up the schoolyard.

Benson Bucks Classroom Economy

HCC's classroom economy (Benson Bucks) is a program that teaches students financial responsibility and citizenship skills through fun, experiential learning. Students earn Benson Bucks for completing classroom job responsibilities and creating products or services for semi-annual class markets. Students can purchase items and rewards but must first pay for their expenses like 'rent'! Students gain many valuable real-world skills from our classroom economy program.
