From the Principal

Patrick Green

Dear Families

Camp

This week our Year 5 and 6 students visited Lyrebird Park for their camp.  I know all concerned were thrilled to be able to experience camp this year after the lengthy remote learning period.  Camp provides wonderful opportunities for personal growth and I know our students and staff that attended had a wonderful time.

I went to visit camp on Wednesday and I was impressed by the eagerness of our students to try the many varied activities as well as challenge themselves when confronted with unfamiliar situations.  Often these tasks were accomplished with friendly and supportive encouragement from classmates, which was wonderful to witness.

I am sure that everyone that attended will have some fond memories of their time at camp and you can view images via our social media pages and in this edition of the newsletter.  Preparing for and organising camp takes a great deal of time and effort, so I would like to thank Anne Askew and Mark Pinkerton, as Camp coordinators for overseeing the organisation of camp.  Thanks also to Andrea Chesterman, Emily Ashworth, Barb Cumming, Trudy Hammond, Olivia Tomada and Catherine Haddad for attending camp and supporting our students to ensure they had a great time.

Swimming

Our Foundation and Year 1/2 students started their swimming lessons today.  I had many enthusiastic students telling me how much they were looking forward to swimming and upon their return there was great excitement and they're all looking forward to their next session.  It is a very important life skill and it is wonderful we can offer this opportunity before the holidays.
