School Council Updates

We will provide parents with regular updates on the work of School Council

FUNdraising team

FUNdraising team

Our FUNdraising team are busy coming up with some creative ways to help the school pay for extra resources for our kids, and having fun too!

For example, we ran a Bunnings sausage sizzle during a short lift in lockdown that raised $1144 for a community garden, and we hope to host a silent auction early in 2022. Click here or contact Matthew Schulz (fundraising convenor) if you can help or have ideas about things to sell, or would like to join our lively crew.

OHSC

Our after hours school care team are working with Big Childcare to ensure our kids are cared for in an inviting and comfortable space.

Buildings and Grounds

Our Buildings and Grounds team are doing the important ground work to get our new inclusive space happening. They are also exploring other areas of our school grounds that are presenting opportunities for sprucing up.

Policy Subcommittee

The SHPS Policy team is pleased to announce that our new Bullying Prevention and Response Policy is now approved and is up on our website now.

Let me know if you’re keen to join us or have any questions.

Thanks, Sarah

Finance Committee

Our Finance Committee are keeping busy as the funds from a number of grants are pouring in. We would like to thank everyone involved in applying for these grants. They are a tremendous effort to pull together and we are so grateful for the wonderful opportunities they provide for our kids!

Buildings and Grounds

We are excited to share information about the forthcoming Nugal-nganjin garden near our specialist block. This Woi-wurrung name means 'ours' and represents the the garden will belong to the whole school community. We have to thank Aunty Gail from the Wurundjeri Tribe who has provided the name for us. You can see the plan below, if you have any skills to help us get this built please let us know by contacting Aasta through the school office or Steve Hardman, our amazing chair of the Buildings and Grounds Subcommittee. The garden will feature plants that are representative of our community, as well as a number of native plants the represent our connection to the local area.
