Our Prep's First Excursion

The Royal Botanic Gardens

What an exciting start to the day it was! Hopping on a bus and heading into the city to explore the Royal Botanic Gardens (RBG). Our Preps couldn't wait to discover all the amazing things that the gardens had to offer.

During the day, we had the opportunity to work closely with RBG staff, Kim & Jason. They took us on an exciting walk through the gardens, where they talked about plants and went searching for rainbow colours in the amazing array of plants and flowers.

We also created our own cubbies using natural materials.

Oh, and let's not forget the bird watching! We were introduced to binoculars and used these to discover some of the RBG birdlife.

After building and searching, we headed to the children's garden where we played in sand, discovered frogs, bugs and water plants. We crawled through tunnels, hid in jungles and dipped our feet into the water. And when we were too tired to play any more we headed home on the bus where some of us were just too tired to keep our eyes open.
