David's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

As the sun sets on another year at Sunshine Heights, it seems appropriate to reflect on what we have come through in this year. We made our way through multiple lockdowns and reconnected as a community towards the end of the year. The students demonstrated beautifully their resilience, passion for learning and drive to connect with each other both online and during our time back at school. I know this has not been an easy time, but the school and our staff are so appreciative of the amazing support provided by parents to keep your children learning and thriving.

In the past few weeks we have had a number of potential exposures, which can seem pretty nerve-wracking for both students and families. Each time our amazing and adaptive  families have taken their child for testing and brought them back on receipt of the negative result. I know first hand how challenging this can be, as my family and I have racked up over 20 tests each in the past year and a half. But now this is a time  for rest and recuperation. It is a time to spend with families and enjoy the warmer weather. Most of all it is a time to reflect on how well our community weathered the storms of the past year and all our success. As we all know, the sun will keep rising and we will all find ourselves together in the sunshine again next year.

A huge thank you to our teaching staff, students and families for everything in 2021 and we will see you all, safe and sound, in 2022.
