KIOSC 2021

KIOSC 2021

Well, just when we thought that we could not have another year like 2020, along came 2021! This time, however, we were prepared. We were lucky enough to get a number of excursions in.

The Year 8 cohort managed to get two trips in during Term 1: one for a maths based program and the second for a science based program.

Early in Term 2, the Year 7 students attended for an onsite maths based program.

Then lockdown occurred.  The Year 10 classes completed an online genetics program as well as the semester one forensics unit.  Fortunately we all learnt from 2020 and the programs ran smoothly.

Once lockdown was lifted, we ended up with a mixture of remote and onsite sessions.  The year 9/10 Science of Crime classes managed to get a number of onsite sessions, using the forensic skills learnt in class to solve a crime. We also ran 2 online programs, one for humanities and another for digital technologies.

Looking forward to 2022:

Year 7 have 3 sessions – Maths, Science and Humanities

Year 8 have 3 sessions – Challenge week, Maths and Science

Year 10 have 2 sessions – Science and Forensics

VCE – a number of sessions across all VCE sciences

Hopefully we can look forward to students attending onsite sessions listed above, as well as a number of other sessions as demand occurs!
