2022 Year 10 Exploring Futures City Stay

Year 10 Exploring Futures City Stay

Tuesday and Wednesday 5th and 6th of April

The Later Years Team is excited to announce that the Exploring Futures City Stay has been planned for the final week of Term 1, 2022. The aim of the experience is to raise student aspirations in both applying for tertiary places and developing an understanding of the multitude of career opportunities available post school. Highlights of the 2 day/1 night experience will be a business investigation of the Melbourne CBD, a compulsory workshop learning about disadvantage in our community plus a second day with a selection of career-based options. Due to your child having missed City Experience this year, we aim to include an opportunity for students to experience some of the fun activities that are usually highlights for them in Year 9.

Students not attending the Exploring Futures City Stay will be expected to attend school and complete the aims of the experience through an online research task.

The base cost of the camp will be $125 which includes accommodation at The Village Hostel, dinner and breakfast plus the compulsory educational workshop investigating disadvantage in our community.

Additional costs will include:

  • Lunch each day
  • Myki card
  • Optional evening activity
  • Optional day 2 activity of which there will be no cost activities and some which attract a payment of no more than $60.

Payment for the camp will be due on Monday 28th February. Optional extras will be charged separately once your child’s attendance at the camp is confirmed.
