Shark Tank

Each year the year 7 students complete a unit of work in Humanities where they investigate the factors contributing to liveability. The unit culminates in a Shark Tank project where the students pitch a business idea designed to improve liveability in Melbourne. 

 

The project requires the students to apply their knowledge of economics, business, geography and research skills. The year 7 teaching team were incredibly impressed with the standard of work produced this year during remote learning and want to celebrate the business ideas pitched by our budding entrepreneurs. Each class voted on the business that they believed would be financially sustainable and contribute the most to liveability, these businesses are listed below. 

 

It looks like the future is in very good hands! Congratulations to all of the businesses selected by their classmates.

7C - Julia Buzatu & Amelia Wang   

Safe Air

During this time, COVID-19 is around us and the air around us contains diseases or germs. Recently, NASA and China have been building a machine that kills Covid in the air. This business will help Australia ship these machines from the USA and China, installing it into schools and hotels. We also put these machines on sale and also make a donation to people in ICU, on a ventilator or families that had a big impact on COVID.

HelpEducate gives less fortunate kids a chance for a good education while also supplying them with necessities.

Reclaimed - Sustainable, trendy, long lasting business that provides a safer, cleaner community for Melbourne. Reclaimed provides bathers and jewellery made from 100% recyclable plastic, and Reclaimed provides jobs to the homeless to help get their lives back on track.

Soul Safe is a service providing physical and emotional help for females of all ages at all times.
