Deputy Principal's Update

“All children start their school careers with sparkling imaginations, fertile minds, and a willingness to take risks with what they think."

Sir Ken Robinson

Dear Parents,

It has been wonderful over the past week to see many happy, smiling faces as parents come back in to do drop off and pick up each day.  From a staff point of view it is so wonderful to see you all and to speak to you outside of your cars!  Although it is amazing how many of you tell me that you like the drive through operation.  For our teachers it is nice to be able to start and finish in a much less busy fashion.

Traffic Safety

Please remember to use our school crossings and to drive carefully through the carpark.  It is also great to see many using the warmer weather to walk and ride to school.  Remember that students can be collected each day from their classroom door or from the shade sail area if arriving after 3.35pm.

Smart Watches & Mobile Phones

We have noticed that more students have Smart Watches on them at school.  We consider these devices to be communication devices like mobile phones so unless an absolute necessity they should be left at home.  If students MUST bring these devices or mobile phones they are to go on their teachers' desk for collection at the end of the day.  Please remember that should you need to get a message to your child our office is the best way to pass along a message.  For most students such devices are an unnecessary distraction from learning.

Please let us know if there are any questions regarding this reminder.

MESSAGE FROM SKOOLBAG APP

We are aware of an issue affecting some SkoolBag app users. Please see details below and quick workaround.

We are aware of an error that is affecting some SkoolBag app users, resulting in the school's name not showing up on the app. When the affected user tries to reload the school into the app, they receive a notice saying they are unauthorised.

This issue is not affecting all schools, and we are currently working on identifying and resolving the issue, however, if you hear from any parents with this issue, as a quick and effective workaround, we advise you to recommend that the parent deletes and reinstalls the SkoolBag app.

When they log back into the reinstalled app, the school will appear as normal on their screen.

Steps:

Advise parent to:

  • delete the SkoolBag app from their device
  • reinstall the SkoolBag app on their device
  • log in to SkoolBag

Have a great week!
