Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical
We were so excited that after several attempts at opening our College production of 'Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical' (due to four lockdowns and many restrictions), the show opened on 26 November and ran until 4 December.
We are so proud of all the students involved, as they never gave up on the show, and attended every rehearsal with such enthusiasm and focus, while showing the greatest respect and support for each other, and for the staff as well. It has been a most humbling and fulfilling experience to work with all these people! As they say, “the show must go on” – and we did it!!

'Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical' was the perfect opportunity for all Kilbreda Performing Arts lovers to unleash their creativity, put on a show and connect the College community.
Matilda has given students a chance to shine, including those who worked behind-the-scenes, and of course, the amazing onstage talent!
New for this production, our Intern Program saw two students trained for each role in the production crew, including choreography, direction, musical direction, lighting, sound, design, props and backstage. Having the role of vocal coach, drama coach and student production leaders, we learnt not only important skills in the areas of music and performing, but collectively we learnt how to help behind-the-scenes and lead a team of performers. Being part of the Intern Program helped us all develop our leadership and collaboration skills while having fun and strengthening our bonds with both teachers and students.
Most importantly, by being part of Matilda, we all grew to value the family we made and helped our wonderful cast to grow and to be ‘show ready’! The strength and resilience of all of those involved taught all of us interns key ideals which we will continue to treasure and use for the rest of our lives within and beyond Kilbreda.
