Co-curricular - Senior Sport

Conclusion of Summer Season

As we approach the end of the summer season, I encourage all students to continue to train hard and play with gusto. To our Year 12 boys who will find themselves playing their final fixtures of Baseball, Basketball or Cricket for the College in the coming weeks, you ought to cherish the moment. Please know that your contribution to the Co-curricular Program and the wider St Patrick’s College community is truly appreciated, and I trust you will have many fond memories to look back on.

  • The final round of ISA Basketball will be played on Saturday 12 March. There will be no finals played this year, the premiership being awarded to the team that finishes on top of the ladder.

  • First XI Cricket will play their final round on Saturday 12 March. The two top teams on the ladder going through to contest the Grand Final on Saturday 19 March.

  • Second and Third XI Cricket will play their final round on Saturday 19 March. There will be no final played this year, the premiership being awarded to the team that finishes on top of the ladder.

  • Year 7 Crichton Cup Cricket will play their final round on Saturday 12 March.

  • NDJCA Cricket teams and RHBL Baseball teams will play their last round on Saturday 12 March. Those lucky enough to make the Grand Final will play on Saturday 19 March.

Winter Sports Trials

Winter Sport Trials for Rugby, Football and Tennis commence on Wednesday 16 March. Please note that a schedule for trials will be released in the coming weeks. It is important that all students who have nominated to participate in a Winter Sport make themselves available for the following Saturdays later this term:

  • Winter Sports Internal Trials – Saturday 26 March

  • BLACK AND GREEN SHIELD: Rugby, Football and Tennis Trial Fixture against Trinity Grammar – Saturday 2 April.

2022 National Bouldering Team Selection Competition

Dylan Parks (Year 11) recently competed for selection in the International Open Team for Bouldering. The top three places received automatic selection with Dylan missing out by one place, coming in fourth. This is an incredible achievement by such a young man, and I am sure we will see him in the team and representing Australia soon.

Mouthguard Special Offer

As you know, winter sport trials commence in Week 7 of this term and a mouthguard is a piece of mandatory equipment for all Rugby and AFL players here at the College.

The College has been approached by Old Boy Michael Ianniello who is generously providing the following offer to St Patrick’s College families:

Should sufficient interest be registered, Shield Mouthguards will be coming to the College to do fittings for impressions on Wednesday 9 March. This gives families the opportunity to get the best type of protection without the trouble of trying to organise a visit to a dental clinic for a fitting. (Please note if you would prefer to visit and have the fitting done in the clinic at Leichhardt, the same deal applies).

Should you like to proceed with taking up this great offer, please fill in the following google form by no later than 3:00 PM, Monday 7 March to book a fitting. https://forms.gle/Zndk4EUpt3RbpBfy6
