Ms Nishani's P- 6 "Wall of Fame "
The Art room has been a busy space these last few weeks as the year is coming to a close and students have been working on their assessment pieces for their school reports for the end of 2021. Students in Saltwater P-9 College have created wonderful pictures for their calendar design assignment. They have been given the voice, choice and agency to create their own artistic expression in creating their calendar design.
Students were required to create a foreground and background and employ the art elements and principles of design in their artwork. It has been fantastic to see such an array of images and how talented the students of Saltwater College are this year despite all the hiccups they have faced along the way.
Congratulations to the students' artworks that made it onto Ms Nishani's, 'P-6 Wall of Fame', these fantastic artwork pieces are still available for viewing in the art room for our students up until the last week of school. It has been a wonderful 2021 here at Saltwater P-9 College and it has been great getting to know all our lovely students, parents and local community.
Ms Nishani would like to say goodbye to students from Timetable A, from Prep to Year Three and thank you for letting me be your art teacher this year. I have truly loved working with all of you and enjoyed our sing a long sessions during art classes. I look forward to seeing you in the school yard during yard duty and continue to hear you share your stories with me and showing me your latest artworks and masterpieces you have completed at home and at school in your art classes.
Next year I will embark on a new journey to upper primary and secondary school and I am so excited to work with the new Year Sevens that are coming up to secondary school. We will have a fantastic year! Thank you to all our wonderful students, parents and Saltwater community for all your positivity and support during our art program this year and a great big thank you to the parent volunteers who have contributed to our school arts program. Thank you to the Lions club and the Rotary club for supporting the artistic journey of our Saltwater students and encouraging their passion for art by offering them art scholarships, prizes and inviting them and their families to dinner for the award presentation.
Ms Nardo and I have truly enjoyed working with all of you in timetable A and B, seeing you grow as artists and getting to know you better as
people. Ms Nardo will be joined by Ms Mancini in teaching the Prep to Year 3 cohort and cannot wait to see all of your smiling faces for an exciting new journey in Art. Have a happy and safe holiday and see you all again in 2022 for another exciting and fun filled year for creativity, exploration, expression, experimentation and skill development in the art rooms in 2022.
From Ms. Nishani and Ms. Nardo xo
Below are some pics from celebrating Diwali and the festival of lights in the art room in November where students made rangolis, diyas, chalk mandalas and learnt about artwork and traditions from other cultures as part of being open minded and global citizens in our PYP Arts program.
