It’s been a huge fortnight of skill development, activity and fun in the area of Physical Education. We have continued to revise and assess a range of fundamental motor skills in addition to holding our Year Prep - 2 Mini Olympics. 

  

Overview  

  

Students across the school have been focused on the following over the past two weeks:

 

Prep-6: Revision and assessment of a range of Fundamental Motor Skills (FMS) and associated games/activities.

Year Prep - 2 Mini Olympics

 

Students in Years Prep - 2 participated in the very first Mini Olympics at Saltwater College on Tuesday 23 November. Throughout the event they participated in nine different activities:

  • Sack Race
  • Egg and Spoon Race
  • Three-Legged Race
  • Sprints
  • Hurdles
  • Javelin throwing
  • Beanbag Toss
  • Caterpillar Race
  • Soccer kicking

The children demonstrated resilience and communication skills during their activities and were principled whilst having a lot of fun. The PE Team would like to congratulate all the students for their efforts, as well as the Year Prep - 2 teachers and support staff for their assistance. A massive thank you also goes out to all the Year Six  students that did an amazing job of helping on the day.
