This week, the Year Three students participated in an at school camp experience where they have been participating in many fun filled activities!
Students have been in the kitchen cooking, creating kid friendly Rum balls and Christmas treats to snack on. Throughout the week, students went on a local excursion, walking through the Saltwater streets, visiting local swamps to discuss habitats and sustainability. Finally, they celebrated as a cohort, participating in a sports carnival where they did many fun activities and finished the week with a talent show where an amazing showcase of skills took place.
This week truly allowed the Year Threes to come together and have a week of fun after spending most of the year in Remote Learning. This week was a blast for both teachers and students and we hope students created memories that they will have for years to come.
Christmas
To celebrate the festive season, students have been actively involved in decorating their classrooms. Each Year Three class created their Christmas doors which involved students taking part in painting, drawing, cutting and creating collages. In addition to this, classes setup and decorated their Christmas trees and have been busy practising their Christmas carols.
Inquiry
As we wrap up our final Unit of Inquiry for the year, students have been creating and filming advertisement campaigns to convince others to make a sustainable change to the environment. Students have created engaging videos using I-Movie to show how littering, deforestation, wasting water and air pollution all play a massive role in harming the habitats of animals. Students finally reflected on their findings for the unit, now understanding the vital role that they play in helping our environment.
The Year Three teachers are beyond proud of all students for their dedication throughout 2021. We thank all students and their families for a fantastic year and wish them the best of luck for Year Four in 2022.
Kind Regards,
Year Three Teaching Team
