Program Families!

Whilst we continue to enjoy playing outside, our cutting, pasting, and painting table have been quite busy.

Children are enjoying cutting out their favourite characters and pasting it to make a collage.

While they are using scissors, their brain is busy coordinating visual motor integration, fine motor skills, auditory processing to concentrate on the task, and bilateral integration - using both sides of the body together (one hand controlling the paper, and the another is controlling the scissors movement). 

Some studies have shown that activities that involve bilateral coordination have been linked to improved academic performance. In our program, we can see how scissor activities support children to focus on the task.
