Some of the tasks our students have nailed whilst Remote Learning! 

• Measuring and calculating the area and perimeter of different rooms in our houses!
• Designing a new national flag after watching a news episode – ‘Aboriginal Flag Debate’
• Unpacking the lyrics to Archie Roach’s song – ‘Took the Children Away’ and completing a ‘Think, feel, wonder, connect’ thinking routine
• Finding words in our shared novel, Boy Overboard and writing the definition of these to increase our vocabulary
• Going online shopping! Well kind of anyway! Having a ‘shopping’ budget and working on our skills to calculate decimals

5/6 - Mr H

During Remote Learning, 5/6 students have explored the topic of money. They have explored strategies around adding, subtracting and multiplying decimal amounts with everyday items. Students compared items of their choice on the Woolworths and Coles website, creating an interesting and creative three course meal for their family. They drew conclusions on sales tactics and how they can find the best bargain!
