Artes Escénicas (Performing Arts)

 Danza (Dance) is the main focus for Artes Escénicas (Performing Arts) this term. We will be learning explicitly about 'Los 6 elementos de la danza: espacio, tiempo, dinámica, relaciones, expresión y  ánimo)' (The 6 elements of dance: space, time, dynamics, relationships, expression and mood).  

 

Just want to say a huge GRACIAS and ADIOS (bye) To Denise from 4-6V! We have had the pleasure of having you at our school and rehearsing Spectacular Dances with us! You're such an amazing student, dancer and person! We will miss your bubbly, enthusiastic, caring and positive self! Good luck in your new school and home! Here whenever you need us! :)

 

 

Spectacular Mass Dance 2021

What amazing enthusiasm and collaboration from our Spectacular Dance Group!

There has been exciting and important updates from The State School's Spectacular 2021, where they have recently stated that, "Revised COVIDSafe settings now allow us to work toward planning and rehearsing for a live event.Our rehearsals and creative process will now reflect this updated advice from the Department, while we work with the team at John Cain Arena and the Department of Health to meet all COVIDSafe requirements." A live show at the John Cain Arena! We are so pumped and ready to dance! 

There will be rehearsals required at hosting schools. Our hosting school is Ivanhoe East PS. The dates to rehearse this term are:

  • Thursday 20th May (10am - 2:30pm)
  • Thursday 10th June (10am - 2:30pm)

Please note that all students are required to be at school by 8:45am the latest, as the bus will be leaving by 9:00 sharp, to pick up one of the other school's nearby, for a shared ride.

A huge GRACIAS (thank you) to Bayanne and Mia for joining our Spectacular Mass Dance crew! You are both brilliant and cannot wait to see you perform with the other!

What amazing, positive, caring and wonderful attitude from all the F/1s! The main focus for Artes Escenicas this term is 'Danza' - Dance. We enjoyed playing Patata caliente (Hot potato) with fun songs to bailar (dance) to!  We all had so much fun learning new dance sequences for different types of songs! We were able to listen to a latin song, with a reggaeton mix for our dance. We focused on learning a sequence for the coro (chorus) part of the song. We are very excited to be collaboradores (collaborators) by working in small grupos (groups) to create the beginning part of the dance sequence for the chosen song. The values we are focusing on this term are Creativity and Curiosity, which also link to their Inquiry topic 'How do the changes in our environment impact our daily life?' Check out our dance sequences so far! Well done to all for still bringing that enthusiasm and excitement into our lessons! The main focus for Artes Escenicas this term is still 'Danza' - Dance. We are continuing to enjoy learning and creating new dance sequences for different types of songs! We got to choose which song we preferred out of latin and hip hop songs. We focused on learning a sequence for the coro (chorus) part of the song. We are very motivated to be colaboradores (collaborators) by working in small grupos (groups) to create the beginning part of the dance sequence for the chosen song including 'dinamica' (dynamics) and 'relaciones' (relationships) as our main focus of the elements of dance. The values we are focusing on this term are Creativity and Curiosity, which also link to their Inquiry topic 'Mi casa, tu casa?' The choreographies are looking very creative and dynamic already! Watch this space and Dance project during this term! :)

You have all upped the ante and are showing such energia, enthusiasm, care, responsibility and dedication to your Secuencias de danza' - Dance sequences. We have continued to enjoy creating dances for our own songs. We focused on Formaciones (formations) and Dinamica (Dynamics) within our dance sequences.  latin and hip hop songs. We focused on learning a sequence for the coro (chorus) part of the song. We have continued to be colaboradores (collaborators) by working in small grupos (groups) to continue to create dance sequences for our chosen songs including 'dinamica' (dynamics), 'relaciones' (relationships) and 'tiempo' (time) as our main focus of the elements of dance. The values we are focusing on this term are Creativity and Curiosity, which also link to their Inquiry topic 'I wonder how the world around us works?' Las ciencias (The Sciences) are still being included into our danzas (dances). These are through: Biology, Space, Chemistry, Science as Human EndeavorsThe choreographies are looking very creative and dynamic already! Different types of 'música' (music) and 'canciones' (songs) have been selected in order to reflect our Inquiry Science topic and story created by us! Watch this space and Dance project over Term 2! :)
