Principal's Update

Dear Parent/Carer,

Thank you to everyone who supported last weekend’s fundraising efforts.

It was fantastic to see so many families and staff in attendance at the West Peak Community Fundraiser on Friday night, which raised $720 towards the purchase of circus and other equipment.  Many thanks to the West Peak Hotel and associated sponsors for their support. Our thanks also to Vicki for arranging this opportunity and to our enthusiastic students for their assistance with selling tickets.

I would also like to acknowledge Kath, Deirdre, Stan, Emelia, Emily and Melody for their support of the Mount Beauty Running Festival on Saturday.  We greatly appreciate them braving the chilly conditions to distribute drinks and lollies to the runners and, in addition to supporting the wider community, this event raised an additional $200 towards the purchase of equipment for the school.

May is traditionally ES month and this week we have been celebrating the wonderful work our Education Support Staff do to assist students, teachers and families.  We are extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful team of Education Support staff at Mount Beauty and on behalf of us all, I would like to extend our heart-felt thanks and appreciation to them all.

It was great to see so many families taking the opportunity to meet with teachers this week. Our thanks to everyone involved for their time and flexibility with this process.  If you were unable to make an interview on this occasion, please contact the school to arrange an alternate time.

In recognition of the growing issue of homelessness, this year’s SRC have a goal to raise funds towards purchasing one or more backpack swags and sleeping bags for someone who needs it. In order to achieve this goal, next Thursday, the 27th of May, we will be having another casual dress day.  Students are encouraged to come dressed as Someone They Admire and bring a gold coin donation.

As part of our commitment to continual improvement, our OSHC service is currently seeking feedback as to how it can improve the service it provides to families.  This survey is for everyone, even if your child does not currently attend OSHC.  We would really appreciate it if you could please take a few minutes to complete a short survey about the activities being offered.

A vacancy still exists for a Crossing Supervisor.  Please contact the Alpine Shire on 57550555 if you are interested.
