EUREKA DIVISION CROSS COUNTRY

What an amazing afternoon we had last Friday with an incredible group of students. Twenty-eight Miners Rest runners qualified to run in the Eureka Division Cross Country Championships at Ballarat High School.

All students represented the school proudly and tried their very best against a very strong field of runners. The 9/10 Year Age Group ran a 2km event and the 11/12 year olds ran 3km. Not even passing showers of rain could dampen the enthusiasm and effort the students put into this event. When students were not running they could be seen showing great school spirit and cheering on their team mates.

Congratulations to the following students who all competed to the best of their ability:

Cooper W, Wes G, Braxton H, Jet K, Zoe S, Millie D, Reuben L, Cooper F, Charlie G, Hugh B, Zienna J, Ella F, Skyla O-G, Karinda H, Connor A, Campbell McP, Jayden R, Aiden V and Isabelle H.

Well done to these students who successfully progressed to the Greater Western Region Cross Country in Warrnambool on Monday May 31.

Cooper W - 12th, Airlie F - 6th, Ruby H - 9th, Naomi L - 10th, Archer B - 4th, Archie T - 11th, Remmy W - 3rd, Chloe M - 11th.

Thank you to Tyler and Tammy for all of your help at this event and to the wonderful parents who were there to help support the children.

GYMNASTICS

It is great to see the F-2 Gymnastics program at the Aquatic Centre back up and running after COVID last year. Foundations students enjoyed their first session last Wednesday where many experienced a variety of activities for the first time. Students in Years 1 and 2 attend sessions on Thursday afternoons where they rotate in groups with their coaches.
