Principal's Report 

Dear School Community,

Thank you for your continued support through these difficult times. It is fantastic to have all the students back in the school;  let’s hope that there will be no more lock downs in the foreseeable future.

This long weekend will hopefully give us some time to draw breath, enjoy some family time and to look forward to a return to a more normal existence.

Gymnasium and Sports Precinct Update

Vermont Secondary College is currently working with the Architects from Kneeler Design to develop the Schematic Designs for a new two court gymnasium. Also included will be two general purpose classrooms, a new staff office, new change rooms & toilets, a weights room and retractable seating for around 1,100 people. The college’s financial commitment to this project is currently around $1.8 million, which will be used to finance the two general purpose classrooms, the weights room and the retractable seating. 

At the end of the project, the college will be looking to purchase and install a large TV screen in the gym, as well as TV’s in each of the classrooms. The school will also need to purchase new gym equipment, classroom tables and chairs. 

Your ongoing contributions to the Vermont Secondary College Building Fund  will allow the college to ensure that this state of the art gymnasium complex will be furnished to a high level and provide our students with the very best Physical Education and Sporting opportunities.

UPCOMING EVENTS & KEY DATES

VCE SENIOR SOCIAL – Rescheduled to FRIDAY 23rd July, 2021 

The rescheduled VCE Senior Social will commence at 7:00pm and conclude at 11:30pm at L'Unica on Parkville, 476 Brunswick Road Parkville on Friday the 23rd of July, 2021. More details to students and families will follow from the Senior School Program Managers, Laura Gerbing and Tracy Mills.

QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY – MONDAY 14 JUNE, 2021

Parents/guardians are reminded that the long weekend for the Queen’s Birthday falls on Monday 14th June.

SEMESTER TWO STARTS TUESDAY 15 JUNE, 2021

Reminder to parents/guardians and students that the whole school (Years 7 – 12) moves into the second semester in the last two weeks of this term starting on Tuesday 15th June. 

2:30PM FINISH - FRIDAY 25 JUNE, 2021

A reminder to the school community that on the last day of Term 2, Friday 25th June, we have a 2:30pm finish. 

Term 3 begins on Monday 12th July, ending Friday 17th September.
