Community Engagement: Open Night

April 29 saw our College on display to our local community as we hosted our annual Open Night. We started off the night in the Theatre as two of our newest students, Hue Fithie and Emily Lay, of Year 7, gave the audience an insight into their experiences as secondary school students.

Our Principal Ms Koziaris then spoke of the multitude of programs on offer here before the crowd began to move around our school to look at all the magnificent displays put on by our various learning areas.

It was great to see almost one hundred of our current students on hand during the night showcasing aspects of College life; such as our upcoming production, Mary Poppins, playing in various bands in the music area and running science experiments - to name a few.

A huge thank you to all our magnificent staff and students for their work on the night.

Enrichment Programs

2021 has seen the introduction of different clubs available to students during lunchtimes, after school and even before school. Clubs include Chess club, Coding club, Make club and Fitness club. We encourage all students to join a club that interests them.

Primary School Program

South Oakleigh enjoys giving our local primary-school students the opportunity to come to our College and experience secondary school education. This term we have two after-school programs available to local Grade 5 students. The popularity of these programs is evident in the fact they both get booked out within a few days of their announcement. Mr Kuruc is taking a maths program and Mr Hem is taking a science program. Thank you to both of these teachers for giving up their time.
