- It has been an excellent four weeks for the Men’s division, and we are looking like the month will end with at least five of our seven teams sitting in the waiting room for finals. In fact, over rounds 4 and 5 none our teams lost. None. While that was personally expensive for me, it is a fantastic look for the club. We’ve had some fantastic games and performances since our last update; I’d like to highlight a few here:
- Evan Douglas slotted in 5 goals against Yarra in the premier league reserves demolition of Yarra.
- Lindsay Ondracek nearly repeated the trick with his four goals in the 8-0 humbling of Brunswick.
- Our top squad recorded their best ever phase this month too, going 3 and 0 from round 3 to 5. Beating Yarra, Greensborough and KBH in consecutive weeks.
- Pennant C have not been beaten at all this season, and have had more hamstring injuries than goals conceded (just three) over the last 6 rounds.
- It’s also a pleasure to announce that Jonny Spincer will take the Player of the Month award for April. His development in our pennant B squad has seen him grow into a Titan in heart of their midfield. It’s a well-deserved accolade and easy decision for the committee, well done Jonny.
As we unfortunately must miss the end of May due to re-emergence of an old adversary – it’s important that we continue to connect remotely while we wait to step on to the field again. Hopefully, it will not be too long, and I will have to open my wallet up again to celebrate a clean sweep. Look after yourself, and each other.
