Careers for Young Women in Sport Forum

This event is designed for girls in Year 10 – 12 who have an aspiration of having a career in the sporting industry.

The event will take place on Thursday the 2nd of September from 9:00am – 2:00pm, at Victoria University - Footscray Park Campus 

Speakers at the forum will include:

  • Mel Jones, OAM - Director at Cricket Australia, member on the International Cricket Commission’s Women’s Committee, cricket commentator, presenter and women’s sport advocate
  • Susan Alberti, AC - Business women / Advocate for girls in sport
  • Bianca Chatfield - Media presenter, leadership consultant and passionate leader in women's sport
  • Professor Clare Hanlon - Susan Alberty Women in Sport Chair, Victoria University
  • Georgia Broadbent - Victoria University Graduate in Bachelor of Sports Management and a Bachelor of Sport Science (Human Movement)

In addition, there will be a series of masterclasses incorporating the following themes:

  • People – Strength & conditioning; Exercise physiology; Data analytics; Marketing; Community Development; Sport Psychology; Exercise Rehabilitation; Player management.
  • Programs – Coaching; Events; Community planning and engagement; Sport development; Health and wellbeing.
  • Places – Managing a sport; Media and communications; Sport tourism; Sports law Local, state and national government; Finance; Sponsorship and memberships.
