St John youth membership

St John Youth is accepting Expressions of Interest for Youth Membership. If you are interested please complete the Expression of Interest form and the leader of your selected Division will be in touch to let you know when their next recruitment intake will be. https://www.stjohnvic.com.au/community/stjohnyouth/

Youth Membership is between the ages of 12-18. You can apply to join St John Youth while you are under the age of 17.

Youth members participate in regular training sessions, usually on a weekly basis, for up to 2 hours. First Aid and other relevant skills are developed through age appropriate activities and training designed and delivered with young people in mind. Service to the community is a fundamental part of St John Youth and youth members are encouraged to attend public events with experienced adult members, including qualified health professionals, to provide First Aid and assistance to the community.

A youth member who attends training and provides First Aid at events in their local community develops a sense of service and helps build community resilience. They develop leadership and communication skills that allow them to respond confidently in emergencies, contribute to the development of St John Victoria in leadership roles and reach their own personal potential

An annual fee of $140 is payable along with a one-off joining fee of $55.

When you visit your local division you will be given a ‘Prospective Member Form’ by the Divisional Youth manager for you to fill in. You are welcome to visit the division for a few weeks to see if it’s something you’d like to continue with.

If you decide to join St John Youth, speak with the Divisional Youth Manager and let them know your intention. Your parents/ guardians will then be emailed an invitation to register to become a St John Youth member through an online platform called Operoo.
