Online Learning - stay connected!
Our Facebook page will continue to provide updates and information for the whole school community.
Verso
Using Verso teachers can create their own high-impact activities using a pedagogically designed lesson builder. The Verso digital platform enables teachers to easily incorporate best-practices including:
- Stating Learning Intentions
- Questioning Techniques
- Providing Model Responses
- Recommended Vocabulary
- Supporting Classroom Collaboration
- Giving & Receiving Feedback
- Metacognition
Username: For the majority of Para Vista Students, the username is your child’s first name followed by the first letter of their surname. e.g. Luke Dunstan’s username would be: luked
(If your child has already used that username previously or there is someone with the same name then your child’s unique Verso username will be first name followed by the first two letters of their surname. E.g. lukedu)
Password: your child’s birth date. E.g. if D.O.B is 5th Jan 2004 – password is: 050104
Edmodo
Para Vista Primary School’s main form of digital communication to parents (Overviews, fortnightly Learning Plans, Feedback) is Edmodo. Please test your connectivity with the relevant class teacher by sending them a message on the class Edmodo page. You might also upload and send them a photo as a practice for sending them a photo of the weekly feedback form. On a laptop/PC there is a picture icon that you click on to upload a photo but it is a camera icon on a smart phone. Please remember that while class teachers will be using the feedback forms to adjust their planning and programming this is not the forum to trouble shoot any individual issues. Please use the support email address below for individual issues.

Offline Activities
Before the start of Term 2 it would be helpful to talk to your child about the upcoming changes to their learning and as a family think about how you might prepare a learning space at home. You could also organise some materials to be able to engage in some hands on learning when having a break from screen time. These might include:
Buttons/bottle tops/pebbles (to use as counters)
Plastic lids (with focus sounds on to build words)
Ball of string or wool
Toothpicks or cotton buds (to practice counting in multiples eg 5s, 10s)
Pack of playing cards
Pair of six sided dice
Magazines or newspapers
Timer (usually there is one on your phone)
Tape measure
