Sustainability

Resource smart school is a program offered by sustainability Victoria that supports Victorian schools to embed sustainability across the schools’ facilities and curriculum while saving resources and money for the schools.

The school aims to progress from one star up to 5 stars and move towards becoming a leadership school. Achieving 5 starts is where schools embed sustainability in everything, they do to minimise waste, save energy and water and promote biodiversity and take action on climate change to benefit the school and the community.

Lisa Tavella is our schools sustainability co Ordinator and works alongside Resource smart schools and staff to implement strategies into our school to help work towards our 5 star outcome.

If you have any suggestions or recommendations, please feel free to reach out to Lisa and the staff at Albany Rise any time.

Keep an eye out in our sustainable section of the newsletter for take home tips on how you can be sustainable in your home and what we are doing here at the school to also work towards school sustainability.

Thank You,
