Promoting Student Wellbeing

Mental Health Practitioner

My name is Tanya and I have recently started working at VUSC as the Mental Health Practitioner. I am a qualified registered psychiatric nurse, with experience working with young people suffering from mental health difficulties.  

 

I provide support for young people by counselling, mental state examinations, risk assessment, safety planning, develop effective coping strategies, liaise with additional supports for ongoing continuity of care, psychoeducation and collaboration with families. 

 

Referrals can be made through the Student Wellbeing team. My working days are Tuesday to Thursday, and I will be working at both campuses. I am very excited to start my journey at VUSC and look forward to meeting and working with you all!
