Student Conferences
It's been a long but very productive first term in learning and teaching which culminated, on Tuesday night, with very successful Student Conferences. It was great to see so many parents in attendance, learning more about their children from our amazing teaching staff.
I know as a parent you can sometimes feel that you have limited influence over your child's education when they come to secondary school, but this is not the case. Parents play a very important role in shaping and influencing their child's education. Research evidence from Australia and overseas shows that regardless of a family's background of income, students are more likely to have higher grades, better attendance and improved behaviours and social skills, when parents are involved in their child's education.
Involvement can be simply talking about what happens at school, or helping your child with homework, or logging into Compass and Maestro to checkout information about learning tasks and school events.
Maestro
If you are interested to know more about Maestro and Developmental Rubrics and how to log into Maestro and how to interpret the information, I have attached a guide for parents. Please reach out if you want more information or training.
