Parent Teacher Learning Conversations

Times to meet your child’s teacher are now available. Research reinforces the importance of parental engagement for children’s cognitive, social and emotional development. Parent-Teacher Learning Conversations later this term are an opportunity for this type of engagement. These sessions are an ideal opportunity to discover more about your child’s academic, emotional and social progress, and to share information about your child with his or her teacher. This is also an opportunity to gain deeper insight about your child’s strengths and interests and to get to know your child’s teacher.

With a limited amount of time with your child’s teachers, be prepared in advance. Maybe even ask your child how they believe things are going at school and talk to them after the interview about what you discovered. You will have the opportunity to respond or raise any concerns but remember that you and your child’s teachers want the same things for your child.

Interviews are run on a tight schedule but if you run out of time, you can always arrange another conversation to continue the discussion. Your child’s teacher will be happy to arrange a time to chat about any ongoing issues or concerns.

School Disco

The school disco is scheduled for Friday May 12 (Week 2 next term). The disco for each age group will take place in the hall. SPLASH will make alternative arrangements for this evening. An outline of the day is.

Years 5 and 6 Disco: from 6 to 8:00pm. (Pizza from 6:00 until 6:30pm)

These children can attend SPLASH if needed and attend disco from there. Pick up for parents will be via the side gate near the staff carpark from 8.00pm.

An e-form was emailed to families last Wednesday (years 3-6). Please respond with your child's attendance by Friday 5 May.

This day will be a casual day but we have decided rather than a gold coin donation we will do a canned food/non-perishable food drive. This food will then be donated to Lutheran Care to assist with their services.

If you would like to volunteer for the disco please email Jess at jrobinson@stpaulba.sa.edu.au You will need to be a registered volunteer to assist.
