Students Speak Loudly and Clearly

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to sit with a range of students from Prep through to Year 6, to hear their experience of learning and life at Rosanna Primary School. They spoke of their connections with teachers and each other, and described a community that cared for one another and were ready to be challenged in their learning. Some were grateful for the natural spaces that we enjoy, while others pointed to the excursions they have shared in. When it came to considering how we might improve the school, there were many who valued the care of our natural vegetation and others who envisaged library improvements. Thanks to all who were involved and helped detail what they considered were the strengths and challenges faced by our school.

Listening to Parents

A large number of our parents have already participated in focus group conversations with the Principal over previous weeks. For those who were unable to attend, a survey online is another opportunity to have a voice. Your contributions are valued and will help inform the school review. The survey closes this Friday 31 March. Thanks for those who have already contributed.

District Athletics on Friday

It is great to see so many eager to participate in the district sports competition on Friday.  We are hoping for a dry event, where students have an opportunity to achieve their personal best. We are all looking forward to hearing the stories of those who represent Rosanna Primary upon their return.

Final assembly Next Week

The final assembly for term 1 will be held at 1:45pm on Thursday next week. As usual, it will be an opportunity to celebrate students of the week and hear about learning in the classrooms.  All are invited to attend.

Early Finish Next Week

A reminder to our school community that students will be dismissed at 2:30pm next Thursday 6 April. The first day back in Term 2 will be Monday 24 April. This will be followed by the ANZAC Day public holiday on Tuesday 25 April.

A special thanks to the generous contributions that were donated to the FORPS Easter Raffle over the last few weeks. Hampers have been filled with wonderful surprises to celebrate the holiday. Thanks to those who spent time on Thursday wrapping the hampers and preparing for tomorrow’s draw. While students of the week are always a highlight of our assemblies, it may be hard to compete with the drawing of the raffle. Thanks to all who have sold and purchased raffle tickets and generously entered into this fundraising event.

Easter Buns Delivered

Wednesday saw a truckload of buns delivered to Rosanna Primary as part of the Junior School councils fundraising efforts. Bags of Easter Buns were delivered to students to take home … we hope families were able to enjoy a few before they were consumed on the way home.

A special thanks to those students who helped advertise and promote the event, as well as families who made purchases. Thanks also go to Baker’s Delight in Rosanna for their generous collaboration. A hardy group of senior students were accompanied by Mrs Cartelli, as they personally delivered hot cross buns to our neighbours during some wet weather on Wednesday afternoon. We are all impressed with their eagerness to ensure our neighbours received their orders. The Junior School Council will announce the class who has sold the most buns at the assembly tomorrow.
