Group 15

We have had a great start to the year in our Group 15 classroom. Students have been very busy getting to know their new learning environment, enhancing their academic learning and capabilities, as well as building on their social interactions, with both their classmates and staff members.  The students have shown greater independence when following their rotation schedule and demonstrate persistence at their workstations, teacher directed stations and when working alongside others at the engagement station. They also enjoy class discussions using AAC and verbal language during our communication circle and shared reading sessions.

The specialist programs are also a highlight of the week. During Music sessions with Patty, students explore music by playing a range of musical instruments and listening to various curriculum related songs which is highly motivating to our students. Our swimming sessions are always a great success with the students learning safe swimming techniques in a fun and engaging environment. During gardening and cooking sessions students are learning to use a visual schedule to follow a simple recipe or water the garden. Well done on a fantastic start to the year Group 15! We are very proud of all that you have achieved so far and look forward to seeing you all in Term 2.

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday and Easter break!

During our Gardening sessions, students are encouraged to independently navigate around the senior garden and explore!
