As house captains, the aim of the day is to see the highest participation and the carnival wouldn't be able to run if girls weren’t ready to jump in the pool at any given time. The Year 12s presented the swimming carnival dance not once but twice, for double the fun, and enjoyed the privilege of using floaties in our races. Overall, the day was a great success and the enthusiasm and spirit on display were immaculate!
On Wednesday the 22nd of March the Academy community participated in the annual Athletics day carnival. There was an amazing level of enthusiasm throughout all year levels with just around 420 students signing up for an event on the day. Lucky for us the weather was absolutely marvellous with a beautiful 24 degrees. The day overall was heaps of fun, there were many activities that all students had an opportunity to be a part of. One of these fun activities was the costume competition to raise money for Project Compassion. The winner went to Kristabelle Ruth Francis wearing a Santa costume. Sherlock took back-to-back victories by winning both the swimming carnival and athletics, which is very impressive and well deserved. Also well done to Goold who won the cheer award. They have proved time and time again that they deserve to win the trophy. Throughout the day, every single student put in 110% effort. But there were a few standout individuals.
Junior Division:
Gold - Gretta Zabotto
Silver - Alexandra Fox
Bronze - Alex Begg
Inter Division:
Gold - Siobhan McCartin
Silver - Lucy Delbridge, Jessica Fragomeni

Well done to all the girls who won a medal and to everyone who participated on the day!
These days are a genuine opportunity to create lasting memories and long-term friendships. Very importantly, they also rejuvenate the school community as a whole, bringing us together in a different environment and building on our school values. Overall, the day was absolutely amazing and every single person should be very proud. We would also like to extend a big thank you to Mr Gallivan, all the house leaders, and other staff members who helped run and organise both events!
