It is time to get out the winter woolies and begin to dress appropriately for the weather.
Shorts and T-shirts may be a fashion statement and they are definitely 'cool' but in a cold winter way! Sitting attached to a heater and shivering because you are wearing these clothes is not helpful for learning. Last year we all had to wear oodies, hats etc. while we were required to open all the windows and doors and turn the air purifiers up high due to covid. We no longer have those restrictions and therefore with the exception of special occasions, the oodies can stay at home. Instead long pants, warmer leggings, long sleeves, jumpers, jackets and wooly hats for outside are the go!
It is also the season for wet feet.
There are a number of options here including bringing a pair of indoor slippers, having extra socks in your school bag, only wearing your shoes outside. Students will be discussing these options with their teachers and working out what is best for their class.
Please don't forget to name everything, many clothing items are being left out on the oval/playgrounds.
We are seeking your help to spread the word about Newham Primary School.
Newham Primary is a beautiful, small school that, as you know, draws students from all over the region. In fact, we rely on drawing students from across the region to keep our numbers up. More students means more resources for our students and staff.
Every year at this time we begin promoting our school to new families across the region as they make decisions about where to send their children to school. We seek to attract families who share our values: respect, resilience, responsibility and unity. And who value our specialist learning program and community engagement.
Our promotion activities include posters, social media, and partnering with community groups that are aligned to the school, like Landcare. We also rely heavily on parent networks and word of mouth.
