Principal's Report

Simone Wood, Principal

Hi Everyone,

Welcome back! Here’s hoping you had a lovely break.

Term 2 is in front of us with lots of exciting things in store! There is the GRIP leadership conference for our senior students, the whole school excursion to Werribee Zoo, Mother’s Day afternoon tea, kitchen garden, school photos, more school sports and some important excursions and collaboration on sustainability - programs here at school and in Newham.

Please be aware that this is a shorter term (9 weeks) with school reports and parent teacher interviews at the end.

With the weather beginning to turn colder it is vitally important that our students dress appropriately for the weather. Please see the notice on dressing warmly in the notices section and be aware that students and staff have collaborated on an approach for their class. Please refer to your child’s class newsletter or contact their teacher for more information.

There is a new timeline in Government schools for enrolment in Foundation (Prep) classes for the following year. If you have current students at Newham Primary School with siblings due to begin next year, please enrol now (see also notices section of this newsletter).

Please check out the Kitchen Garden dates for this term and let your child’s teacher know if you can help on the day. We also have some excursions coming up where we have requested help. We hope you can come!

An invitation has been sent home for our Mother’s Day High Tea (2.30pm, Friday May 12th) please RSVP to the office by the 10th. We hope you or grandma or another significant guardian will be able to join us on this day.
