Dear Jesus,
Grant me your strength, so I will have courage in every situation;

Combined Opening School Mass
Last Thursday, St Xavier’s and St Mary’s College combined to celebrate their Opening School Mass. The hall was at maximum capacity with students, staff, families and parishioners, who all came to witness Fr John and Fr Vince lead Mass, before welcoming in the 2020 leaders for both schools. The new St Xavier’s Prefects did a wonderful job reading the Prayers of the Faithful, as did our School Captains, Lily Canham and James Strohfeldt, who reverently took the gifts up to the Altar during the Offertory. Congratulations to all elected St Xavier’s school leaders for 2020.
Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, falls on next Wednesday February 26 (Week 5). Along with St Mary’s, St Xavier’s Primary students will celebrate Mass in the St Xavier’s Hall on this day to mark the beginning of the Lenten Period. Infants students will attend an Ash Wednesday Liturgy in the Kindergarten classroom instead of attending the Mass that morning.

St Joseph's Altar Servers
Starting next week, and finishing in Week 8, Fr Vince will be conducting some lunchtime training sessions for all new and existing Altar Servers. Following this, all Altar Servers will participate in a ceremony at Sunday Mass on the 29th March, either in the Rite of Institution (for new Altar Servers) or in the Renewal of Commitment (for existing Altar Servers). Further information will come home about this shortly.
