SCSA Tennis

Boorondara Tennis Centre, the home of tennis, was where the PCW girls played in the SCSA Tennis Competition on Friday 8th March.

Seven schools were on show and the centre was buzzing with budding tennis players. Our version of the Hopman Cup was played with each school entering a single and two doubles players. The team had to win the overall round to get the points. The girls played some incredible tennis and it was great to see how much fun they were having on the court. Win or lose the sportswoman-ship was evident as you can see from the selection of photos from the day.

Congratulations to all participants even though we did not make the finals it was great to hear the songs on the bus on the way home with all year levels enjoying each other’s company.

SCSA Indoor Cricket

The Box Hill Sports Centre is a fantastic venue for the SCSA Indoor Cricket competition. They provide all of the equipment and  have professional umpires that are fair and relate well to the girls.

Five schools playing 40 minute matches meant that each student got  the opportunity to bowl, bat and wicket keep. There was some outstanding performances and 'specky' catches as well as clever running between the wickets.

Having only lost one of their matches, the Junior team had the opportunity to play in the Grand final were they came a creditable second place. The Intermediates finished 3rd and the Seniors in 4th place.
