Hi Everyone,
A reminder that our annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held from Monday 9th March until Friday 13th March in the Library. There will be a ‘Working Bee’ on Sunday 8th March at 1:30pm to set up the Book Fair. Unfortunately the cases arrive full of black dust and to prevent damage to the books they must be cleaned out and repacked. If you’re able to help please contact me in the Library. Help would be greatly appreciated. Many classes will view the Fair during their Library lessons on Monday & Tuesday when they’ll compose their Wish Lists. Students who visit the Library on Fridays will have alternative times organised for them earlier in the week. Secondary will be able to visit during their lunch times. A vast selection of fiction and non-fiction books will be available for purchase as well as range of stationery items. There will be two Parent Afternoons on Tuesday 10th March and Thursday 12th when the Library will be open until 5:00pm. There are a couple of payment options. You may pay by cash or Eftpos. We have been very fortunate to have access to a portable Eftpos machine from Scholastic and this will be the case again this year.
As we will be holding the Book Fair, Issue 2 of Book Club will not be distributed. If you wish to view the catalogue it is online at: http://www.scholastic.com.au/schools/bookclub/bc_parents.asp
The Premier’s Reading Challenge website is up and running for 2020. Thank you to all the families that have now returned their participation notes. It would be appreciated if notes could be sent back ASAP. Kinder – Year 2 students will be completing the Challenge in their classrooms with their teachers. Books suitable for the PRC are labelled with coloured dots: Early Stage + Stage 1 – Orange Stage 2 – Pink Stage 3 – Silver Stage 4 – Dark Green If you or your child have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. Stage 2 & 3 students will record their books during their Library lessons or at home.
Have a great week. There will be a lot going on in the Library so come and join in.
