Year 3/4 News

Welcome to Term One!

Welcome

What a wonderful start to the 2022 school year! The students have been slowly settling into their new routines and are enjoying getting to know each other.  The transition into reading and maths groups is going well, with the students being able to move efficiently between learning spaces.

Writer's Notebook

Students in 3/4 have started a Writer's Notebook. A Writer's Notebook is a place where writers can collect, store and grow their ideas for writing. It is important that students continue collecting seeds (artefacts that provoke writing) like photos, sketches, holiday memories, lists, postcards etc. The seeds are personal and can vary styles from writer to writer.

Religious Education (RE)

Last week, students in Year 3/4 participated in RE Rotations, centred around the theme of Prayer. Students explored formal prayers, including the 'Our Father'. They unpacked the language used and interpreted its meaning for today's people. Students wrote their own Prayers of the Faithful for the Church, the World, those in need and the local community. Students also investigated the role that prayer plays in the classroom and contributed to the

making of the class prayer cloth.

Congratulations 2022 Year 3 & 4 SRC Reps!
